Applications for the 2024 Cambridge Amgen Scholars Programme will open on Wednesday 1st November.

Notes on applying

Check your eligibility before applying.

Please note each European Programme has its own application process. Details of the other programmes can be found here.

For the application form, you will need to provide: 

  • Your personal details including contact information.
  • Academic information (such as course, year of graduation)
  • Details of any awards, prizes or research experience
  • Your referee and supervisor details. See further info below and in the FAQs page. 
  • A personal statement (template to be added to this webpage)

Along with the application form you will need to submit the following documentation in PDF format. There will be a space at the end of the application form for you to upload these:

  • Copy of your academic transcripts
  • CV (1 page)

Cambridge Process

You will need to find a Project Supervisor before you can submit your application. This is an academic at the University of Cambridge who has agreed to support your application and host you in their lab for the 8 weeks you will be at Cambridge, working on a project agreed by both parties.

We will only consider applications where we have received:

  1. the applicant's application form with additional documentation (see above)
  2. the 'Reference request' form submitted by the applicant's referee
  3. the 'Project supervisor support' form submitted by the applicant's proposed Project Supervisor
