All Amgen Scholars will be housed in St Edmund's College, close to the historic city centre. St Edmund's was founded in 1896 and is one of the most diverse colleges, with members from over 50 different countries. Scholars will be housed in private en suite rooms on a half-board basis: breakfast and dinner Monday to Friday, brunch on Saturdays and a roast lunch on Sundays.
Amgen Scholars at the University of Cambridge will receive a stipend of £1120 to cover living costs. This will be paid in arrears in two parts:
£560 at the mid-way point of the Programme
£560 just prior to the end of the Programme.
Students not normally resident in Cambridge will be able to claim up to £200 towards the cost of travel from their home to Cambridge. Students will need to provide receipts.
Students from a European Economic Area country (EEA) or Switzerland should ensure they have a European Health Insurance Card. All other students must arrange their own private health insurance. Please be aware that neither the Amgen Foundation nor the University of Cambridge can provide health insurance.
